(*) Ich schrieb im Mai 2011 an den Nature-Support: "after having tested several bookmark systems, I decided for Connotea and haven't regret it as I still prefer the interface, the handling and the Nature background to other tools. But for several months, Connotea works erraticly for me. In about a third of all attempts to bookmark, I receive extremely long loading times, timeouts, maintenance messages (e.g. three minute ago), 503 errors with 'heavy traffic exceeding the server's capacity' (e.g. four and two minutes ago) and so on. Users are referred to the blog, but there is never any information about it, even when the error message is 'maintenance'. I also commented on the post http://blogs.nature.com/connotea/2011/01/19/connotea-status-update a few weeks ago but the comment seems to have disappeared. Is there really maintenance going on or is the user load to heavy or could there be something wrong with my Firefox options or...?"

It has become quite difficult to bookmark something because the number of 'server downs' and 'capacity overloads' (really?) are constantly increasing. I didn't receive any answer when mailing to the Connotea team or commenting on the Connotea blog which obviously has now completely disappeared from the web. Are there plans to discontinue the service? I just want to know so I could export my bookmarks on time. I really like the functionalities which distinguish Connotea from other bookmarking services and hope it will be still available in the future".
