ASLIB, die 1924 gegründete britische "Association for Information Management", scheint vom Konkurs bedroht zu sein. Wir haben ein Schreiben der britischen Firma "Begbies Traynor Corporate Rescue & Recovery" bekommen, in dem steht: "The Directors of the above Company, having regard to its financial position, have decided to commence liquidation proceedings." Am 22. Dezember 2004 soll eine außerordentliche Generalversammlung stattfinden, wo beschlossen werden soll, "that has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the Company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind-up the same". Nachdem ASLIB einer meiner Lieblingsfachzeitschriften, die ASLIB Proceedings, und das "Top-Journal" Journal of Documentation herausgibt, wäre es sehr schade, wenn ASLIB nicht weitergeführt werden könnte.
