Senate House Library vor dem Aus?

Leslie Crang, den ich als Autor des Weblogs librarytwopointzero kenne, hat ein Weblog namens Save Senate House gestartet, in dem die mögliche Schließung der Senate House Library der University of London: "My reasons for starting this blog is not to save my own job (well maybe slightly), but to give a view point and to stop the closure of a fantastic academic resource, which has many students, researchers and writers coming there". Das Higher Education Funding Council for England hat nämlich den "review of special funding for research libraries" verfasst und darin das Budget von Senate House drastisch gekürzt, weil die Bibliothek nicht ausreichend von Nicht-Londonern verwendet werde.
