Mehrmals aufgegriffen in den Medien wurde die Entscheidung der Stadtverwaltung von Willamina in Oregon, keine Tiere (außer Assistenztiere) in die Stadtbibliothek zuzulassen, allerdings eine Ausnahme für die Bibliothekskatze Agatha Christie, kurz Agie, bis zu deren Tod zu machen. Sarah Evans im Statesman Journal findet sogar einen bibliothekarisch angehauchten Titel: "Willamina council puts library cat on reserve. Agie can stay, but two hamsters will have to check out".
