"A report by the IST-funded Tel-Me-Mor project has warned that the national libraries of the ten newest EU Member States find it difficult or impossible to get involved in European research activities, and that only four out of the ten have significant amounts of digitised content". "Tel-me-more" hat anscheinend nichts mit Grease zu tun, sondern ist das Akronym für "The European Library: Modular Extensions for Mediating Online Resources"... Ich hab mich schon oft gefragt, wie lange die Leute brauchen, ob solche Abkürzungen zu finden. Vor allem: Was war zuerst? Sagte jemand "wir wollen das Programm xyz nennen, wofür könnte das eine Abkürzung sein?" oder hat man eine Abkürzung, und einer sagt: "He, das klingt ja fast wie xyz - wenn wir das Wort durch jenes ersetzen, wäre es leichter auszusprechen und zu merken"?
