Bye, bye, womeniss

Die Sektion Women's issues der IFLA wurde mit Dezember 2005 aufgelöst, damit wurde auch die Mailingliste womeniss eingestellt. Leider werden auf der Website keine Gründe dafür genannt, man wird nur auf's Archiv verwiesen. Gewesene Ziele:

concerns itself with questions and issues that have special relevance for women in the library profession and in the user community

develops programmes designed to enhance the opportunities and the image of these two groups of women

promotes the collection, research, publication and dissemination of information on the status of women in librarianship

strives to identify discrimination in all forms, including disparities in resources, programmes, and opportunities relating to women in librarianship
