Aslib wurde nach einem Management Buy-Out "neu geboren": "Within weeks of going into voluntary liquidation, Aslib, the London-based LIS association offering recruitment, training, and information services, has been reborn as a private company called Global Information Management Services Limited", heißt es im Artikel "Aslib Dies, and Is Reborn" von Richard Poynder, der in der Februar-Ausgabe von Information Today erscheint.
Februar in einer Presseaussendung: "Aslib ... has been resurrected by its former Chief Executive, Roger Bowes. Bowes has purchased the assets and intellectual property of ASLIB which are owned under a new company, Global Information Management Services. The organisation will continue to be called ASLIB and Bowes holds the post of Managing Director. Bowes commented, 'My intention was always to ensure that ASLIB and its unique contribution to information management is sustained and flourishes and that its staff including myself can continue in employment'".
