Thomas Jeffersons Bibliothek bei LibraryThing

Wie Tim Spalding im Library Thing-Weblog schrieb, wurde die Bibliothek von Thomas Jefferson mit knapp 4890 Bänden in LibraryThing erfasst - siehe www.librarything.com/catalog/ThomasJefferson: "Jefferson, 264, was assisted by sixteen LibraryThing members, led by jbd1. Together, they cataloged 4,889 books (6,487 volumes), added 187 of his reviews (a treat), and tagged them 4,889 times, according to Jefferson's own innovative/weird classification system". Wie Jefferson in seinem LibraryThing-Profil schreibt: "The 6,487 volumes (c. 4,889 titles) included here are those I sold to the Library of Congress in 1815 for $23,950". - Federführend bei der Aktion waren Mitglieder der Gruppe "I see dead people's books". In Arbeit sind u.a. die Bibliotheken von Leonardo da Vinci, William Faulkner und Adam Smith.
Ich habe übrigens acht Werke mit dem ehemaligen Präsidenten gemeinsam: Dante Alighieri: La divina commedia; Erasmus von Rotterdam: Lob der Torheit; Homer: Die Odyssee; Homer: Ilias; Niccolò Machiavelli: Princeps; Mark Aurel: Meditationen; Ovid: Metamorphosen; Vergil: Aeneis.
